Behavior Consultations are the first step of the training process and are mandatory prior to any private training sessions.
All Behavior Consultations are virtual and held via Zoom.
We do not offer in-person Behavior Consultations
-
Behavior Consultations are discussion based and we will assess your current needs, history of the situation, set up management strategies and then decide on training options. If time allows, we may also begin some training to give you and your dog some relief from the issues at hand.
After the consultation, you will receive personalized notes, handouts and my training recommendations - including how many in-person or virtual training sessions I recommend. The number and frequency of sessions will depend on the issues, your goals and everything we discuss during the consultation.

I do not want to or need to see your pet performing the unwanted or unsafe behavior, especially for fear and aggression cases.
Behavior Consultations are discussion based, where we can get to know each other, dig into you and your pet’s history, set up management/safety strategies, and talk about any training or medical clearance needed before a first in person session. For example, I will sometimes require muzzle training or a vet check before we can begin in-person training, OR any shopping or preparations to the house before you bring your puppy home.
Meeting virtually also removes any potential bite risk for aggression cases and prevents a scary presence in the house for extreme fear cases. No matter the case type, Behavior Consultations work incredibly well on a virtual platform!
After the consultation, when appropriate and agreed upon, the next step for local clients is usually an in-person session.
